My Birthday

Ryan and I at Cafe Annie. It was a very modern, chic restaurant that offered the perfect Houston cuisine...a little southern style mixed with Gulf Coast seafood mixed with Mexican flare. Yummy! Ryan and I felt super cool eating there! =)

I had such a nice Birthday! So hard to believe that I am another year older! Although, Ryan did write on my cake, "Happy 25th Birthday Jennifer," which made me feel pretty good. =) We enjoyed a wonderful dinner together on Saturday night at Cafe Annie. It was delicious! Ryan took me to get sized for some running shoes before dinner...they are so comfortable and it was so neat how they watched me walk/run/stand up/sit down in order to fit me in the right shoe. I enjoyed spending time with Ryan and Jack on Sunday. Ryan cooked out a yummy meal and we all enjoyed my favorite kind of cake, cookies & cream ice cream cake! Jack especially loved it!!!! Jack sang "happy birthday" to me so sweetly...it melted my heart!

Inflatable Zone

Jack had so much fun last week with his buddies, Addison and Blakely, at the inflatable zone! He loved the big slide! Many thanks to Heather for taking all three kids down it! It was a perfect place to play and to escape from the Houston heat!!!!!

San Diego

Ryan and I had a fabulous time in San Diego! It was so nice to get away for a little rest and relaxation. We enjoyed lounging by the pool, eating lots of good food, walking the beach and going to the spa for massages! The weather was perfect, and it was so nice to get out of the Houston heat. We saw lots of families at the resort where we stayed at, and it made me think how fun it would be to take Jack there one day for a family vacation. I think he would love it too! We are so grateful to Ryan's parents for watching Jack while we were away. He had such a wonderful time at the ranch with them and even got to enjoy the rodeo while he was there. I hope to post some pictures from his time there as soon as I get the disposable camera I gave them developed!

George Strait

Ryan and I had a blast last night at the George Strait concert! (of course, I forgot my camera!) He is such an amazing performer, and it was so cool to see Reliant stadium sold out for his concert. He played some of our favs....Amarillo by Morning, If it wasn't for Texas, Troubadour, The Chair, Still Make Cheyenne, and This is where the Cowboy rides away! We were also very impressed with the performances of Sugarland, Blake Shelton, and Julianne Hough!

I had fun taking some pictures of Jack the other day and loved hearing him say the word "cheese" when I took the pictures! Can't you just see him forming that word on his lips? =)

Summer 2009

The summer has flown by, and I have been a terrible blogger! Although, I do have a good excuse...my computer short circuited and was out being repaired, so here I am catching up on all of the fun we have been having!!!

Jack graduated from his Little Gym class in June. Daddy stopped in from work to take part in the festivities. It was so special to have him there and Jack loved showing him all the things he could do at Gym class!

Jack and I headed to Indy at the end of June/first of July. We had such a great visit there spending time with my parents, sisters, brother in laws, nieces, and nephews. We also enjoyed spending the 4th of July at Carol Jo and Sherman's farm. Jack loved Uncle Sherman's combine! The weather was perfect and was a good break from the Texas heat! We may have to spend more time up there in the summer months! Here are some pictures from our travels there:

Jack and I took a rode trip in mid July to visit the Hayter (my cousins) ranch in far west Texas. We had such a wonderful time, and it was truly special to be able to share that place with him. It was great seeing my cousins and Aunt Carol Jo! Jack still talks about Joe Bob climbing windmills, throwing rocks (there is not a shortage of them out there!), Happy the dog, Mike & Ike the horses and the wagon ride, feeding chickens, Bob and "Fancy's" House, and how Bob calls to the cows "Wooaa!" Well that is an update of our summer adventures so far!!!!!

Swim Class

Jack and I have been taking a mommy & me swim class the past few months, and I just wanted to share how amazing it is! The ultimate goal of the class is to teach them to float on their backs to breathe (since we are naturally buoyant), turn on their bellies and go under water to swim and how to hold on to the edge of the pool and climb out. Jack has learned so much, and I was so proud of him today...he floated on his back all by himself for about 3 seconds and even swam under water for a few seconds on his own! You would think he would be frightened, but he loves it! He asks almost everyday, "Go swimming?"
